Tangerine Pu-erh Tea (Xiao Qing Gan)

Tangerine Pu-erh Tea (Xiao Qing Gan), a special type of Chenpi Pu'er Tea (Pu'er tea aged with dried tangerine peel), is a unique blend crafted by filling premium green mandarin peels from Xinhui, Guangdong, with imperial-grade ripe Pu-erh tea (Shou/Shu Pu'er) from Yunnan. The process begins with carefully selecting unripe green mandarins and hollowing out the fruit to retain only the peel as a natural "tea shell." The shells are then filled with high-quality ripe Pu-erh tea, gently dried, and stored in a clean, controlled environment. Like Pu'er tea itself, it possesses the characteristic aging quality of becoming more fragrant over time.

As one of China’s most popular natural blended teas in the past decade, Tangerine Pu-erh Tea (also called tangerine tea) contains no additives and is suitable for various brewing methods. Whether brewed hot or cold, it perfectly combines the fresh citrus aroma of mandarin peel with the rich, mellow flavor of ripe Pu-erh, creating a naturally wholesome tea with a distinctive fragrance.

Our Tangerine Pu-erh Tea (Xiao Qing Gan) collection is exclusively sourced from the designated geographical indication area of Xinhui District, Jiangmen, Guangdong. Within this protected region, we carefully select green mandarins from the core production areas to craft our teas. These products are among the highest repurchase-rate selections at Chinese Tea Group’s physical teahouses and are recommended to tea lovers worldwide through our online China Tea store.
