Yunnan Pu-erh Tea
Made from large-leaf tea trees in China’s Yunnan Province, Pu-erh tea is categorized into two types: raw Pu-erh tea (sheng pu-erh) and ripe Pu-erh tea (shu pu-erh).
Raw Pu-erh is the traditional form that is not artificially fermented, while ripe Pu-erh undergoes an additional pile fermentation process. Pu-erh tea can be enjoyed in loose-leaf form or compressed into tea cakes, tea bricks, or tea tuo.
What sets Pu-erh tea apart from other teas is its unique ability to age over time. During the aging process, it continuously evolves, developing a richer, more complex flavor and texture.
