The 2023 Tianma Tangerine Pu-erh Tea (Chinese Pinyin: Xiao Qing Gan Pu'er Cha) is a highly sought-after natural blended tea from China.

Origin & Ingredients

The tea’s main ingredients come from Tianma Village in Xinhui District, Guangdong Province, a region known for its pleasant climate and fertile soil.

  • This area produces small green mandarins that are ideal for making dried tangerine peel(chen pi).

Tea Composition

Tangerine Tea (Xiao Qing Gan) is made from:

  • Carefully selected, unripe small mandarins
  • Blended with Yunnan ripe Pu-erh loose-leaf tea

This combination creates a unique sensory experience where citrus and tea aromas intertwine.

Production Process

The production of the 2023 Tianma Tangerine Pu-erh Tea includes the following steps:

  1. Cut open the top of the small green mandarins.
  2. Remove the pulp.
  3. Fill the hollowed fruit with carefully selected Yunnan ripe Pu-erh tea.
  4. Naturally air-dry or gently low-temperature dry the filled mandarins, allowing tea and tangerine peel aromas to fully integrate.

Brewing & Flavor Profile

  • Tea color: Bright reddish
  • Taste: Sweet and mellow
  • Aroma: Combines citrus fragrance with the rich flavor of ripe Pu-erh

Perfect for after meals and can help with digestion.

Quality Note

Over time, oils in the tangerine peel may form a white frost on the surface.

  • This is not mold, but a natural characteristic of the tangerine peel.
  • It indicates high quality and is a mark of excellence, not a flaw.
  • High-quality tangerine peel and well-aged Pu-erh tea develop even richer, more complex flavors as they mature over the years.
