This tea cake was produced in 2017 in the birthplace of Pu'er tea—Yunnan Province, China. The leaves are harvested from large arbor tea trees over 50 years old, some reaching up to 16 meters in height with trunks up to 90 centimeters in diameter. The young leaves are covered with fine hairs, the buds are plump, and the leaves are thin yet thick and elliptical, thriving at an altitude of 1,200 meters.
Traditional Crafting and Natural Processing
These premium fresh leaves were traditionally processed into raw Pu'er tea cakes (also spelled Pu-Erh tea). Using an unfermented, natural method, the tea is designed to transform and mature over time, allowing its flavor to develop gradually.
Unique Aging in Yunnan and Guangdong
In 2018, this batch of Pu'er tea cakes was transferred from Kunming, Yunnan, to Dongguan, Guangdong. The dry climate of Yunnan provided ideal conditions for the tea’s healthy early-stage transformation, while the controlled humid environment in Guangdong accelerated its later-stage aging. Together, these two distinct storage environments imparted a unique character to the tea.
Rich Flavor and Aromas After 8 Years
After 8 years of aging, the 2017 Raw Pu'er Tea Cake, named “Golden Charm”, offers a rich and smooth taste, with delicate floral and woody aromas woven into its mature fragrance. Highly durable to multiple infusions, each cup reveals its distinctive complexity and layered flavor.
Packaging and Aging Notes
Please note that the packaging of aged tea cakes may naturally develop creases or signs of wear over time. This is completely normal and does not affect the quality or flavor of the tea. On the contrary, these marks are a testament to the tea’s journey through time.
As Pu'er tea (Pu-Erh tea) matures, its flavor deepens, its character becomes more pronounced, and its unique charm is fully revealed.
