Yunnan Pu-erh (Pu’er)

This premium 2021 raw (Sheng) loose-leaf Pu-erh tea comes from Menghai County, a key tea-producing region in Yunnan Province, located in the western part of Xishuangbanna near the Myanmar border.
Made from large-leaf tea trees using traditional methods, it is presented in loose-leaf form without compression, making it convenient for daily brewing.
Loose-Leaf Tea vs. Tea Cakes
Pu-erh is commonly found in two forms: loose leaves and tea cakes.
Loose-Leaf Tea
Loose-leaf tea is easy to measure, allowing precise control over quantity and steeping time, ideal for everyday enjoyment.
Tea Cakes
Tea cakes, by contrast, are compressed, which makes them perfect for long-term storage and transport.
Aging and Flavor Development
Regardless of the form, Pu-erh’s flavor develops and deepens over time. Because loose leaves are more exposed to air, they age faster than compressed tea, quickly developing the rich, mellow taste characteristic of well-aged Pu-erh.
Tasting Notes
Our Yunnan-origin loose-leaf raw Pu-erh tea – 2021 Menghai features the distinctive aroma of the Menghai region, a robust character, and a deep, full-bodied flavor. After just four years of aging, it has already developed the smooth, layered profile that Pu-erh drinkers typically expect from mid-aged compressed tea (5–10 years), despite being a loose-leaf tea.
Each infusion delivers a rich and evolving taste. Unlike compressed tea cakes, which require tools to break apart, this loose-leaf tea is hassle-free and an ideal choice for newcomers to Pu-erh.
