This Chinese Handcrafted Green Tea comes from Mr. Lin's tea garden, where he combines traditional farming techniques with his family's inherited methods to produce and sell his tea independently.

A Legacy of Craftsmanship

Our physical tea shop has been privileged to work with Mr. Lin for many years, and we deeply admire his expertise in tea cultivation and roasting, as well as his selfless dedication to helping others.

For Mr. Lin, growing and crafting tea is more than just a profession—it’s a lifelong commitment tied to his mission of supporting impoverished children in remote mountain areas.

Supporting a Good Cause

Over the years, the Chinese Tea Group has offered this particular loose-leaf green tea from Mr. Lin at near-cost prices to support his charitable efforts, increase sales, and raise awareness of his meaningful work.

Tea Origins & Crafting Process

Handcrafted Green Tea is a premium loose-leaf tea made from the Mei Zhan cultivar, grown at high altitudes. The unique natural environment helps preserve the compounds in the leaves, enhancing both flavor and aroma.

Hand-picked in the spring and crafted using traditional methods, this tea preserves its rich flavor and distinctive regional character. Unlike most green teas from China, it improves with age, becoming more aromatic and offering greater value as it matures.

The Unique Quality of Handcrafted Green Tea

What sets this green tea apart is its ability to be steeped up to 10 times, which is rare among green teas.

Brewing Instructions

1-4 Steeps (Early Stage)

  • In the first four infusions, the tea offers noticeable thickness and complexity.
  • The flavor is intense at first, with a smooth texture and distinct herbal aroma.
  • The first infusion is often described by first-time drinkers of this high-roast green tea as having a "quick and intense sweetness."

5-8 Steeps (Mid Stage)

  • From the fifth to the eighth infusions, the sweetness deepens.
  • The complexity of the tea becomes more pronounced, and the aroma gains additional layers.
  • The tea becomes rounder and more balanced.

9-12 Steeps (Late Stage)

  • From the ninth to twelfth infusions, the sweetness becomes lighter yet still distinct, without being overshadowed by other flavors.
  • While the taste is less full-bodied compared to the earlier infusions, it still leaves a gentle aftertaste that lingers on the tongue.

Conclusion

This gradual brewing experience allows the unique charm of Chinese Handcrafted Green Tea to fully unfold.

Each infusion reveals new flavors, offering a layered drinking experience full of surprises, showcasing the tea’s endurance and depth across multiple brews.
