Shui Xian tea (also spelled Shui Hsien tea) is a loose-leaf oolong tea named after a tea tree variety native to the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian, China. These tea trees thrive on rocky cliffs, where the mineral-rich soil and unique terrain imbue the tea with its distinctive 'rocky character.' For this reason, it is often referred to as 'rock tea.'
Fujian "Shui Xian" Wuyi Rock Oolong Tea – A classic Wuyi Yancha with rich mineral aroma and roasted notes. Handcrafted in Fujian’s famous Wuyi mountains, this oolong offers smooth, complex flavor ideal for Gongfu brewing and oolong enthusiasts.
Our Fujian 'Shui Xian' Wuyi Rock Oolong Tea is harvested from high-altitude tea gardens located over 800 meters above sea level in its original growing region. The rocky terrain, coupled with a limited number of tea trees and strict harvesting standards, ensures that only the tender shoots—comprising one bud and three leaves—are carefully selected. With an annual yield of less than 30 kilograms, this tea is scarce and exceptional.
The dried tea leaves are glossy black, tightly rolled, and emit a subtle aroma reminiscent of rocky valleys. When brewed, the leaves unfurl into plump, robust shapes, and the tea liquor reveals a charming amber hue with a silky smooth texture. Most importantly, this tea perfectly embodies the Chinese tea philosophy of "the flavor of no flavor." This concept celebrates the art of subtlety and balance, where the beauty of the tea is not found in overpowering aromas, but in the serene, lingering aftertaste that unfolds gradually, leaving a profound and lasting sense of satisfaction."
This satisfaction represents a higher level of enjoyment, akin to not just tasting your favorite food, but savoring its elevated, refined version of unparalleled quality.
The authentic charm of this tea lies in its understated elegance—unassuming yet endlessly captivating, leaving a lasting impression with every sip.
