Da Hong Pao tea (Big Red Robe tea) is a type of oolong tea originating from Wuyi Mountain in Fujian, China. Its history dates back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. According to legend, this tea cured a critically ill top scholar (Zhuangyuan). In gratitude, the scholar draped red robes over the tea trees to symbolize their preciousness, giving the tea its name, 'Big Red Robe.'
The unique geographical environment of Wuyi Mountain, characterized by its distinctive Danxia landforms and lush vegetation, provides excellent natural conditions for the growth of Da Hong Pao. The mineral-rich soil imparts a unique 'rock essence,' which is why Da Hong Pao is also known as Wuyi Rock Tea.
Our Da Hong Pao (Big Red Robe) Rock Oolong Tea features dark green dry leaves. When brewed, it produces a bright, clear liquor with a captivating floral and fruity aroma. Whether you're an experienced tea lover or new to Chinese tea, this tea is an excellent choice for its traditional flavor and exceptional value.
